Good evening parents. We are winding our way down to Christmas holidays. The last few weeks were business as usual, with this week still having some normal routines.
Spelling:
This weeks spelling words are as follows:
big are home said green
We are still having a spelling test this week as I do not want to fall behind but it will be on Thursday as our Fun Friday Christmas celebration will be happening on Friday
Social Studies:
We have just finished our geography unit (mapping) and we will begin learning about communities (rural and urban) in the first week back.
Math:
We wrote our unit test on numbers and recently introduced the concept of addition (the + sign). We will continuing with addition to 12 in the new year.
Science:
We are just finishing up the unit "needs of animals" and we will start "The 5 senses" in the new year.
Odds and Ends:
For the Christmas concerts on Thursday, we would like your children to dress up in "nice" clothes. They do not have to be super fancy, we just do not want to see things like sweat pants and torn jeans. They can be dressed up when they come to school in the morning. Also on Friday, we will be having a "dress in Green and Red day to celebrate Christmas.
