It's hard to believe that this is officially the last week of winter. There are many thing coming up this week.
There are no new spelling words this week as it is a review week. We will not have new spelling words until after spring break.
Your child will be receiving permission forms for swimming lessons. This program is part of our Physical Education curriculum. Part of the costs are covered by EEPA, leaving a total of $33.25/student for lessons.
This Thursday, March 17, is St. Patrick's Day. Traditionally people wear green to celebrate this day. That will be the extent of our St. Patrick's Day celebration on Thursday.
This Friday morning, March 18, we will be having an assembly regarding autism and autism awareness. We are going to be wearing "rainbow" colored socks for autism awareness. If you do not have rainbow colored socks, wearing two different socks will do the trick just fine. It is also "Jersey Day". Wear your favorite sports team jersey to school.
Math
We are going to finish up our unit on Addition and Subtraction to 18 this week and begin our unit on Measurement. We will be looking at the measurement of time this week, talking about days of the week and months of the year.
Science
We have a couple experiments left in our Exploring Liquids unit. We will be testing what different materials will hold water without leaking. We also need to talk about recognizing human responsibilities for
maintaining clean supplies of water, and
identify actions that are taken to ensure that
water supplies are safe. We will conclude Exploring Liquids by spring break.
